Whether we’re here to spin, squat, stretch, get swole or nail a PB it’s up to all of us to make sure we’re sweating safely.
In this melting pot of fitness insanity, we sanitise, sanitise, sanitise. Stay tidy. Smash that power clean.
We might be working our biceps. Training triceps. Putting our quads through hell. But we have each other’s back, always.
That means keeping our distance when training resistance. Being careful whether we’re hitting class, the showers or getting our cardio in.
Yes, we love a burpee. But coughees? No thanks. If we need a rest day, we take it. It wasn't antibodybuilding that brought us here.
Stay strong and we’ll all get stronger. Social fitnessing. Let’s make it our thing.
Because we never do things by halves at Gymbox.
Class bookings - bookings open at 10am exactly one week before the day of the class. For example at 10am on Monday, bookings open for classes the following Monday.
Gym time – a bookings system will also be required for access to the gym. Bookings for gym time open at 10.30am exactly one week before the day you want to visit. For example at 10.30am on Monday, bookings open for gym time slots the following Monday
You'll see on the App, gym time entry slots are available every 30 minutes. This is to make sure we can carefully manage member numbers and make social distancing a breeze.
All bookings will be done via the Gymbox app. If you’ve not got it yet (or deleted it because it made you miss us too much) make sure you download it.
We’ll be providing temperature checks on arrival for everyone’s safety. It will take less than 1 second by looking at a screen. For the time being, temperature checks are compulsory and if your temperature checks out high, please don’t come in and train. Annoying, yes. But we’ve all got to look out for each other right now.
Shield guards have been installed at reception to provide protection for all members, guests and staff.
While not mandatory, our staff may be wearing face coverings. A limited amount will also be available for members to buy at reception, should you fancy giving your pandemic wardrobe the Gymbox look. While not recommended for high intensity workouts, they are FFP grade 2 protection, plus they are comfortable, washable and reusable. They come with air filters and additional filters will be available to buy at reception.
We’ll be fully cashless to avoid any unnecessary physical contact. We’ll also provide contactless check in – which means that for clubs with no turnstiles, you can simply scan your card at reception without ever needing to hand your card to a member of staff.
We’ve doubled our cleaning hours to make sure there’s more regular cleaning of changing rooms, gym floor and studios.
Before every opening, all clubs will have been deep cleaned and fogged.
Between classes, every studio will be cleaned and sanitized ready for the next class.
Gym equipment will be cleaned regularly throughout the day and we ask that every member does their bit by wiping down equipment before and after use, with the biodegradable wipes provided. Numerous wipe down stations can be found around the gym.
We will be limiting the maximum capacity in the gym at any one time and the gym time booking system will allow for a steady flow of entries and exits throughout the day. This will ensure we can keep a safe space between members.
Our studios will have designated training spaces to ensure social distancing is carried out at all times.
There will be additional time between classes to minimise congestion and to allow time for our teams to deep clean and sanitise every studio.
If looking for a quieter time to train during gym time, it may be best to train during off peak hours.
There will be numerous hand sanitiser stations throughout the club, and we’ll make sure you can’t miss them. Biodegradable sanitising wipes will also be available for wiping down your equipment, kit and anything else that takes your fancy. In addition, we kindly ask that you wash your hands regularly.
There will be a reduced number of showers and toilet facilities in use to help with social distancing. To reduce any possibility of spread, towels will not be allowed on the gym floor. We encourage you to come to the gym changed where possible. Lockers will still be in use but please stick to social distancing in the changing room at all times.
The saunas will be out of action in the short term while we await further instructions.
Some cardio equipment will be out of action to allow for social distancing. These will be clearly marked.
Towels are now allowed to be used on the gym floor and in studios.
There will be signage and floor markings across our clubs and studios to help guide everybody on social distancing. We’ll have additional team members on the gym floor too, to help with any questions you may have. We got you.
We’re a social bunch but for the time being, there’ll be limited seating available in breakout areas to make it easier to stick to social distancing.
Personal training will continue to run as normal but with no physical contact to respect social distancing guidance.
We hope you can see how committed we are to keeping our community safe. We’re doing all we can to make you feel comfortable in our clubs. And rest assured, these precautionary measures and proactive approach will continue to evolve as we receive new information. If you are suffering any symptoms, we ask that you don’t train. We’re so happy to be back, so practice safe sets and get your sweat on Gymbox-ers!
